Hur är det då med den lokala inom- och utomhusmiljön på de olika skolorna i Solna?

Här kan vi skönja ett mönster där barnen i Solna – ofta mot sin vilja – flyttas från bra miljöer och skolgårdar till sämre och vissa fall riktigt dåliga platser.  De kommunala skolor som nu har klasser/stadier som läggs ned är alla mycket väl placerade, med en omtanke för barnen och deras trygghet.

Såväl Granbackaskolan och Skytteholmsskolan som Bergshamraskolan har stora, varierade skolgårdar och en utomhusmiljö som stimulerar rörelse för barn i alla åldrar. Skytteholmsskolan har därtill hela parken utanför dörren, vilken nyttjas flitigt till idrottlektioner och raster. Inomhusmiljön är också bra, och Skytteholmsskolan är till och med nyrenoverad. Senast under jullovet – alltså efter att beslutet om att flytta bort mellan- och högstadiet – har skolan fortsatt att renoveras.

Skolorna som de ersätts av har betydligt sämre förutsättningar. Råsunda centralskola, som nu ska få ännu fler elever, har trånga korridorer invändigt och minimala ytor för utevistelse. Den nya IES-skolan som öppnar i södra Solna har i princip ingen skolgård (3 kvm/barn) och inomhus- och utomhusmiljön är präglad av buller från trafiken, skadliga vibrationer och luftföroreningar. Det finns också förhöjda halter av radon i byggnaden, något som måste åtgärdas innan skolstart. Kontorslokalen som ska inhysa barn i närheten av Ulriksdalsskolan ligger trafikstört och har ingen skolgård alls.
