I förra inlägget tittade vi på hur meritvärdena för elever i Solnas kommunala skolor ser ut. Att titta på meritvärden rakt upp och ner ger egentligen en felaktig bild av hur skolan klarar sitt uppdrag. En kommun som Solna med många högutbildade invånare och få problemområden har såklart ett lättare jobb att få bra resultat i skolan än en kommun med lägre utbildningsnivå.

Som tur är publicerar Sveriges kommuner och regioner statistik om det här också. På deras statistiksajt kolada.se finns en modell som räknar ut det meritvärde man kan förvänta sig i den kommunala skolan med hänsyn tagen till befolkningens utbildningsnivå, andel nyanlända och andra faktorer.

I modellen kan man se hur kommunen klarar sig utifrån sina egna förutsättningar. Återigen så tittar vi bara på resultatet från Solnas kommunala skolor som våra politiker har direkt makt över (och friskolorna hade dragit ner resultaten i och med att de har sämre meritvärden i genomsnitt i Solna än de kommunala skolorna).

Detta är ingen rolig läsning för Solna. I första bilden nedan kan vi se hur Solna klarar sig i jämförelse med resten av länet. Solna kommer tredjen sist och är tillsammans med Nykvarn och Vallentuna de enda kommuner som presterar sämre än förväntat med hänsyn tagen till kommunens förutsättningar (det syns i diagrammet som att värdet för dessa kommuner är under noll).

Alla andra kommuner har högre resultat i skolan än vad som kunde förväntas utifrån deras befolkningsunderlag. Sigtuna, Sollentuna, Stockholm, Upplands-Bro och Nacka ligger i topp. Medelvärdet är markerat med en streckad linje.

I en jämförelse med våra grannkommuner placerar sig Solna sist, med ett värde som är mycket lägre än de andra kommunerna. Alla övriga har bättre skolresultat än förväntat, men inte Solna. Antagligen en konsekvens av att Solnas skolor varit underfinansierade under lång tid.

Återigen, är detta verkligen att sätta skolan främst? Solna har utmärkta förutsättningar för att driva en framgångsrik skola men förmår inte ta tillvara på dem.
